Sister, sister

Hi everyone!

My name is Eugenie, and I’m from the ’14 Spice Girls! I want to give a BIG congratulations to our former sponsor, Dr. Espinosa and his wife, on the birth of their son!! I really hope y’all will come to visit us sometime soon!

This past week has been so much fun! Even though we didn't have a football game, we’re all getting pumped for Saturday’s game against OSU. On Sunday we held elections, and it lasted FOREVER (4 ½ hours to be exact)! It was all worth it in the end though, because I think we've got some really great officers, and I can’t wait to see what next semester will bring :) Plus our Southwest District Counselor, Erika Pope, came and visited us! I was so happy to finally meet her, and spend elections getting to know her. She’s super awesome, and I hope she comes to visit us again sometime soon!

Here’s us with Erika before elections….

Juuust kidding!

It’s also Sisterhood Week, which means we get to do all kinds of fun, sisterly things! Everyone has a Secret Sister, who you get to give gifts and fun notes to throughout the week. I’m really excited to see what will happen later in the week when we have to give our Secret Sister some kind of awkward gift! It should be really funny!....or maybe just straight up awkward……

We also just held our Pancake Break and Informal Interviews! I got to spend all day with my fellow Star family members, Nicky and Marina, making S’mores pancakes. They were soooo good! I think I ate like 11 pancakes….Also at this rush event we played Where the Wind Blows. It was a really fun game, but should be played with caution (Note: do not wear boots on tile). Anywayss, I’ll check in later next semester, and let y’all know how it’s going!

One Crazy Keta

Hey guys! I AM KETA and I’m incredibly lucky. Why am I incredibly lucky? Because football is my favorite thing to talk about besides Ginnifer Goodwin (who is unfortunately not one of my favorite things to talk about anymore so this is a lie and I’m a liar) and there has been so much football to talk about lately, especially being here at BAYLOR, which is home of the best football team in Texas the nation the GALAXY. Well they are actually tied with the San Francisco 49ers for that title. In fact, I’ve done a lot of thinking about the perfect football team. I would combine Baylor’s offense with the defense of the 49ers (SPECIFICALLY THE PASS RUSH because Baylor’s defense against the pass makes me queasy sometimes) and then the perfect football team would be created by Niketa Shava Henderson just like the power puff girls were created by professor Utonium.  This team would strike fear into the hearts of Gary Pattersons everywhere (lowkey Baylor already does though real talk lowkey). Speaking of Gary Patterson it would be RIDCULOUS OF ME NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT BAYLOR BEAT TCU. That is all for today’s generic football talk. See you tomorrow for the next one. In honor of football I’ve decided to leave you here with this collage of Hannah and me at football game throughout the year! Who’s got it better than us? NOBODY (that is a 49ers saying) so SIC ‘EM.

One Exhausted Elyse

Hellooooooo everyone!

We just had Homecoming and let me tell you I am exhausted! And Homecoming weekend also means Pigskin. There was a performance Thursday night, two on Friday, and one on Saturday.  I worked the Friday night show and was able to take a break part way through to go say hi to some of our alumni that showed up.  :)  While talking with Tara O’Shields I got to see her new little baby boy Brodie and let me tell you he is soooo cute! And I think he already has as much Baylor clothes as I do.

I didn’t make it home that night until 12:30 and then we had the parade the next morning, which I had to start helping out with at 6:00 am! It was way to early.  But the parade went great and after it was over we had a chance to relax for a while and I chose this time to take a nap in my Tuba case.  If you haven’t tried this before it is amazing! Several people took selfies with me during my little nap too.  Here’s one from Henry, the current Beta Alpha president and fellow tuba player.

And then the day continued!! We had practice and then headed over to the Stadium where the rest of the band did the Bear Walk for the football players (which used to be called March of the Bears) and TBS and KKPsi got everything set up for the game.  YAY service!

I might have taken another nap when we got back to Allison Indoor before the food came.  I was exhausted!

Then it was almost GAME TIME! We marched over to McLane and rocked the pre game show, supported the Bears, played our halftime show, supported the Bears some more, had our post-game show and marched all the way back to Allison.

After we cleaned up and got all of the uniforms put away and the Penskie loaded we were done! I was then able to go eat dinner with Sara Bitting and Zach who were in town for the game.  I miss her soooo much so catching up and getting to see her again was great! Hannah and another flute player rushie came with us too and I don’t think we ever had a quiet moment the entire time.  But then Sara had to leave :(  I went home, went straight to bed and I am still recovering from this weekend.

Homecoming is crazy! And getting to see alumni sisters and be part of the oldest Homecoming parade is pretty freaking special.  But I’m glad its only once a year.  :)
