As week five comes to a close as well as MEP we look back and notice that it has been an amazing, fun, eventful (and sometimes stressful) five weeks. We have learned a lot about Tau Beta Sigma and what it takes to be a member. These weeks have brought us as a MC class closer than ever to each other and to the members. We like to thank each and every single one of them, the members of KKPsi, our bigs, and our trainer for the support and encouragement as we made it through this process. We are looking forward to being part of BUGWB next semester as members of Tau Beta Sigma.

Hello Friends! Jenny, the VP of Education for our awesome Iota chapter here again, to let you know about how the semester is going in my office! We are on the final week of our Membership Education Program, Week 5! It has been an amazing adventure for everyone involved, from the Member Candidates to the Members. You have been able to see some of the fun the girls have been having through their blog posts. I hope you have been able to learn a little about this awesome class! I am very proud of the girls, they are hard workers and I know they will make it through the week. They are working very hard to prepare everything for this weekend. We are all very excited! After the MEP, the education process continues with education focused on membership. We will work with the 8&5 in hopes of better exemplifying them in our everyday lives. Remember this weekend is Activities Night and 3rd Degree! We’d love to have you! Also, if you are there, come by and say hi to us working the concessions booths at Sing on Thursday or Friday! Now here’s a picture of a turtle on a leash. :) MLITB,
Jenny Hello, all!
Last week I had the incredible opportunity to go to the Texas Music Educator's Association convention to perform as part of the Baylor Wind Ensemble. The concert went amazingly well, and afterward I found out that not only one of my friend from the Tau chapter (currently a band director in my former school district) but Iota's own Janet West Miller and Karon Hammond Miller were able to attend! It was such an incredible experience and it was so exciting to look out into the audience and see so many Tau Beta Sigma shirts in the crowd. While I was at TMEA, I had the chance to speak to Dr. Nicole Burdick (the current TBS Vice President for Colonization and Membership) about some of the work that Iota is doing and discuss some plans for the future. I also was able to get a sticker for my badge! While this sounds a little silly (I'm a college junior! I shouldn't get so excited about stickers!) it was yet another awesome thing to walk around the convention floor and see so many TBS and KKY stickers. While I know our mission statement includes promoting women in the band profession, it's something else entirely to see that in action. It made me prouder than ever to be able to represent Iota at such convention of music-loving people and to perform my best (and the Baylor Wind Ensemble's best) in front of a crowd that included my sisters and brothers from different chapters. My one regret is that the TBS & KKY Sing was right after our concert, so I wasn't able to attend, but I hope to be able to attend TMEA again next year, and I'll do my best to go then! MLITB, Kathryn Week Four is coming to a close. Looking back, we have been through a whirlwind of activities. A trip to the zoo, finding a port-o-potty on a stick, working the All-University Sing concessions, and learning all about the different offices are just a few of our activities. The Membership Education Process has been difficult, but we have managed to keep our balance. This process would not have been possible without help, so we’d like to thank the members of Tau Beta Sigma and Kappa Kappa Psi. Our big sisters and big brothers have been there for us, as well as the rest of membership. It makes it all even more worth the time dedication to know what great people make up this organization. Us with our Big Sisters right after First Degree! One more week is up ahead, and then the Tau Beta Sigma experience will really begin! We can’t wait for next semester’s 2012 season of Golden Wave Band! Baylor’s Golden Wave Band was an incredible experience last season, so next season is sure to be even better as a member of Tau Beta Sigma! Love, The Sole Sisters Hey Everyone! This is Jenny, Iota Vice President here to give you an update of the MEP! We are in the middle of Week 4, giving us a little over a week and a half left. The girls have been doing a wonderful job and we all couldn't be any prouder. Along with Week 5 comes some of our favorite activities that we would love to have our Alumni attend!
