We just had Homecoming and let me tell you I am exhausted! And Homecoming weekend also means Pigskin. There was a performance Thursday night, two on Friday, and one on Saturday. I worked the Friday night show and was able to take a break part way through to go say hi to some of our alumni that showed up. :) While talking with Tara O’Shields I got to see her new little baby boy Brodie and let me tell you he is soooo cute! And I think he already has as much Baylor clothes as I do.
I didn’t make it home that night until 12:30 and then we had the parade the next morning, which I had to start helping out with at 6:00 am! It was way to early. But the parade went great and after it was over we had a chance to relax for a while and I chose this time to take a nap in my Tuba case. If you haven’t tried this before it is amazing! Several people took selfies with me during my little nap too. Here’s one from Henry, the current Beta Alpha president and fellow tuba player.
I might have taken another nap when we got back to Allison Indoor before the food came. I was exhausted!
Then it was almost GAME TIME! We marched over to McLane and rocked the pre game show, supported the Bears, played our halftime show, supported the Bears some more, had our post-game show and marched all the way back to Allison.
After we cleaned up and got all of the uniforms put away and the Penskie loaded we were done! I was then able to go eat dinner with Sara Bitting and Zach who were in town for the game. I miss her soooo much so catching up and getting to see her again was great! Hannah and another flute player rushie came with us too and I don’t think we ever had a quiet moment the entire time. But then Sara had to leave :( I went home, went straight to bed and I am still recovering from this weekend.
Homecoming is crazy! And getting to see alumni sisters and be part of the oldest Homecoming parade is pretty freaking special. But I’m glad its only once a year. :)
