Game three!! Did anybody out there watch the game on TV? Did it feel like the worlds longest game from your living room/from a place in the stands other than the band? Because it sure felt like the game lasted way way way too long from where I was standing. Speaking of long games... if you guys didn't hear about the OSU game that lasted until 3am this season you need to go google it like right now.
Go.
I'm giving you time.
Anyways...
It's that time of the year! Time for the parents to come see what we do! It's always exciting to have our families come and watch a game (1) because we like to show off and (2) because we do our annual Parents Day t-shirt sale! This always ends up being our biggest fundraiser of the year (and biggest pain in the butt fundraiser to organize...) and helps us get through a lot of the simple service we do for the band throughout the fall and spring semester. Thank you to all the parents and families that ordered shirts this year!
Funny story about organizing the t-shirts: Heather threw a "Come help me organize the shirts!" party on Thursday evening, and the people that went got most all of them organized then soon realized there was a problem with the method!! OH NO! Over 200 shirts organized the wrong way! SO Heather took them apart after she realized this (which by the way was after everyone left), and did it by herself. She is awesome. Gold sticker for her!
(I wasn't there and wasn't super involved so this story may be slightly wrong, but let's just go with it because it makes Heather sound awesome c: )
We had a big ol' table full of t-shirts and a handful of TBS girls helping to hand them out. Our wonderful Heather McGowan headed the project and did an amazing job with making sure everything ran really well. Since this is such a big project it takes someone really put together to take it on, and Heather was just that! If you happen to see her, or if you find her on facebook make sure to tell her how awesome she is!
Iota also had a pretty decent parent turn-out this year at the game. I loved seeing the families register for the game because a lot of times you could tell exactly which parents belonged to which students. It's cute how similar some of them look! Here are a few pictures of some of our members with their families. We had a lot more moms/dads there, but we only got so many pictures (and I'm a busy lady! lol)
Thanks for reading c: We've got some news on rushing coming up soon!
