It's a BaBa Life

Hey guys :) my name is Kristyn and I’m currently the Iota President! YAY! Lots of exciting things have been happening to me lately (like, oh, I dunno, being elected President) and I figured I might as well share them on the blog! Warning: I like pictures :)

Over the summer, my super awesome, amazing, British grandmother decided to take me to South Africa to show me where she grew up! It was probably the most amazing two weeks of my life, and I would do anything to go back. We went to many different places in South Africa-Johannesburg, Pretoria (the capital), Durban, a National Park where we went on multiple game drives, Umhlanga, Umhloti, Cape Town and more! So, here are some pictures!

Me and my grandma at the airport! My dad was like “Okay I’m taking a picture look happy!”
Because this picture is fitting and we all know why.
Picture
Just a casual picture of a lion post-meal being lazy and digesting. Note the many more lions in the back!

Picture
My favorite animal in the park – the jaguar. This male jaguar was absolutely massive. He was so impressive and beautiful and just wow. And yes, we were THAT close to all of the animals. Terrifying and breathtaking.
Picture
Table Mountain in Cape Town. AKA one of the most amazing places in the entire world. Google pictures of this for a mindblowing experience :P

Picture
South African fruit called granadilla, which looks absolutely disgusting but tastes like heaven.
Because elephants. Our ranger (tour guide, basically) called babies(of any kind of animal...and people) pygmies.

Picture
And a picture of the Indian Ocean. It was SO GREEN. In Cape Town the Indian Ocean meets the Atlantic and it’s really cool because their so distinctly different in colors you can actually see the difference. This is also my “Little Mermaid” picture, with the wave crashing on the rock and… yeah

Picture
From on top of Table Mountain. Note the green water of the Indian Ocean!

Okay! So that was South Africa. It was awesome, and I really hope I can make it back one day.

In other news, many of you know I got a puppy in the Spring! His name is Maximus and he is a dachschund. I love him with all of my heart and he is the best little weenie ever. Enjoy some pictures of his cuteness :)

Picture
His sweater that grandpa (my dad) bought him! And his derp face. GO BEARS

Picture
And cue some other random pictures because you were warned.

Picture
Casual selfie with the Iota placard from when we hosted District Convention in the Spring 2014! :)

Picture
My dad and I went ziplining and he ALWAYS makes this face when he takes a selfie. He says it’s because he’s thinking too hard haha.

Picture
Me and my super awesome twittle (twin little) Elysekies at our first BUGWB gig of the year! We’re cute. We know ;)
And I’ll just casually leave off here with this piece of magic.

Hi, my name is Jessica Hadish and I am so excited to be spending my last semester at Baylor with the Golden Wave Band! I am a member of the Color Guard and we are 20 strong this year which is huge for us. I have been so blessed to be a part of Tau Beta Sigma and had the opportunity to meet these beautiful souls. Here are some snippets from the past few games since football has taken over our lives these past few weeks.
Picture 1: Me and some of my wonderful sisters doing service after pre-game! Obviously the team did something amazing!

And So It Begins

This is Katie(aka Jupiter...or is it Juniper).  Summer is now over, and it is once again school time. I am really excited about this semester as classes get started up again about what will be learned, and the opportunities I will be presented with. This past week was preseason week for band and it was a lot of fun. At the end of the week we got to go to the new McLean stadium for Noche Del Oso. Its so nice and we get to sit behind the end zone. During the rehearsal Marina finally got me back for pouring water on her during our MEP, but in all honesty it was really refreshing.
Picture
Although the semester has just started things are going on. We had our first rush event at Bahama Bucks (YAY snow cones), and the homework has started to pile up but it is nothing we can't handle. We have our first football game on Sunday in the new stadium and I could not be more excited about it!! Its going to be a lot of work this semester but it will be well worth it!
Picture
My big Jules also just had a birthday!! She is now the same age as her little (love you Jules)!
I can't wait for what this semester has in store for me and my sisters.

Thanksgiving and Black Friday and TTU... OH MY!

My name is Leanna Mason and I am the new Chaplain of Tau Beta :)

Thanksgiving break was amazing! Not only did I get to go home and see my family, I also go tot see my amazing new dog, Oreo :) We have had Rugby since I was in 7th grade, so my mom decided she wanted a new puppy :) Oreo is a toy poodle and just precious! My mom has MS, so the puppy brings a lot of joy to her day! :)

I took about 50 pictures of the puppies total, so here is just one :)
Picture

Not only did I get to see my puppies, but I also went shopping with my little brother, Kyle, on Black Friday! We hit the shops from 9PM-2AM. Here's a picture of us being silly :)

Picture

Did anyone else enjoy watching the Tech game? I personally feel like it took a few years off my life because of how stressful it was. Here is a picture of one of our Rushees, Lori & me at the game being silly! We were waiting to go into the stadium!

Picture

Here is a picture of the cool bear masks we received during the game! The directors made us take them off during the game :( But they let us wear them after the game, which was awesome! :D

Picture

Here are a few other pictures of the stadium! The game was absolutely amazing!! I feel bad for those of you who weren't there, but I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving as well!

SIC 'EM!

Leanna

While waiting, we decided to take fun pictures :) The alumnae made me feel so loved! I can't wait to be a part of the alumni band next year :)

Sic 'em IOTA :3

Needless to say, I think I'm still on a homecoming high :) I loved getting to see all the alumnae (especially my big sister!). As a JA 2 years ago, I didn't care much for the Homecoming traditions of catching up with alumni, but I'm definitely starting to appreciate it more now that I actually know people who are alumni. :D

As webmaster, I definitely tweeted a lot during the Homecoming weekend, so shout out to Kim who took pictures for me when my phone died in the second quarter of the game :3 If you haven't already, please follow TBSiota on twitter to get updates for blog posts & to see how the sisterhood is doing :3

I can't wait to be considered an alumna next Homecoming & enjoy all the festivities that normal alumni get to experience during Homecoming weekend :3

<3 ITB
Heather

PS: In case you missed it (or want to watch it again), check out our Homecoming halftime performance :3 The fun starts at around 5:30
