 | Hey guys!! I’m Leanna Mason! I crossed in Spring 2011 with Sugar Rush and my name was Gummy Bear! :) I was in Austin this year doing an internship before I could technically graduate, so I graduated in May!!! I was at Texas School for the Deaf and at Round Rock ISD Live Oak Elementary for my second semester. |
My major was Deaf Education so during my internships I was getting signing experience and also getting experience teaching and modifying lessons by the general education teacher so that they would be applicable to my students without being too challenging for my students. I got to work with students with additional special needs my first semester and that was a challenge! Loved every second of them because I really learned a lot about myself as a person and learned a lot about patience. My second semester I was able to grow a ton as a teacher. I learned the ways that I like to teach and learned a ton from my mentor and the staff at Live Oak!
This past year has been absolutely crazy! I moved to a new city where I didn’t know a soul and just started over my life. It was definitely challenging but I have grown so much as a person during this past year! I’m also pleased to announce that I have been given and accepted a job at Bastrop ISD at Mina Elementary to be teaching Deaf Education there! I am SO excited to be able to start teaching my own set of students this next August!! I’m so pumped!
